My High Low Project

We are currently planning the 2016 Oscar's Party. I can't wait to share that post-we have so many great ideas, so check back.

I'm always collecting serving pieces, its become a problem really. I'm gonna need a whole room to house my pieces soon. I recently introduced Angie to Nora Fleming and she's become as obsessed as I am! We're still working out the details of the menu which of course directly affects the servings pieces. And I'm always shopping, so I keep adding.

One of my favorite things to do is find a look or something I love-for less money. Remember that show on HGTV The High Low Project? It's my whole philosophy-decorating, clothes, etc.

Over the weekend I saw a beautiful three tier wooden stand from Pottery Barn.  It has since become unavailable, which is fine since I was not paying $90.

My go-to place for great prices on serving pieces for (much) less is TJMaxx/Marshalls. I found this beautiful wood tiered stand for just $30. Its sturdy & well made. I actually like it better. The tiers are straight, not bowl shaped which makes it more versatile & I love the rope detail at the top.

I'm looking forward to putting it into action for the party. As always, it pays to look around a bit before making a decision. There are times when you just have to suck it up & buy the piece you love. But not until I scour the earth for alternatives. My next mission: finding a cheaper, more rustic version of this...
